Living with a designer has taught me to never underestimate the creative juices of an individual. A neighbor asked my wife to help her plan a very romantic backyard. When I first heard that term used with outdoor decor I laughed. My wife gave me one of those looks that only wives can give you and said that I just had no imagination. Of course, I told her I didn’t need one with her around and she simply smiled and agreed.
They worked together for about two weeks before the big reveal and I must say; the backyard was romantic! They used a series of outdoor lamp lighting on the deck, the pathways and the garden that was by any standard stunning. I had no idea that lighting could set such a tone. Of course they had done some other things as well such as creating a lounging area with very comfortable deep seating as well as a bistro area for entertaining guests that was a little bit brighter than other areas in the yard. My favorite thing was the water feature using a bamboo fountain and soft lighting that made you want to sit with your sweetheart and relax. Now I want one!
