If you are struggling to figure out what to get someone in your family or friends and they enjoy gardening, let me suggest a wonderful garden planter that I recently bought.  It is cast aluminum with a beautiful weathered verdigris finish.  It is also 14 inches wide and 5 inches high with a diameter of 11 inches so it is large enough to plant a good sized plant yet still small enough to fit on most shelves and or a side table.  This planter is elegant in its simplicity and can be used as easily inside as out.  The aluminum makes a great sturdy container and you don’t have to worry about it getting broken like you do the glass and clay planters. I was hunting around a few months ago for a batch of eco-friendly lanyards to do my staffing (card-creation related) activities with, when I stumbled across compucardinc’s website. I really needed lanyards that weren’t too expensive, and resistant to a GOOD amount of wear and tear. Man, was I impressed after I ordered a batch of 100 as a sample! The no-twist hook is great for hanging things that (with people jostling around in vehicles or just generally moving pretty fast) can’t really handle swiveling around while in transit. Read more…

I’ve learned my lessons about area rugs. Owning a dog is why I first bought one. I bought dark carpets, thinking they would hide the dirt better. This was wrong. Navy, dark blue, and even black area rugs show dirt more than lighter colored ones like tan, cream or beige – especially if they don’t have a pattern. I also tried buying colors like red and purple. This didn’t work either. I bought my first mat at Pier One and it was ruined in about a month. So, I decided to move on to something less expensive. Read more…

The fall colors are out in force and it makes for such a charming vision while seeing the orange, yellow and red fallen leaves blowing around by the wind. The pines are shedding their cones and needles, too. A blanket of blond pine needles cover the garden and lawn making the mood very mellow. These are all moods and thoughts of our seasonal change.
